Paradisia is a British themed Duchy which aims to provide a friendly, stimulating and overall co-operative society.

The Duchy has had large web presence since the IPHE (Internet Project for Higher Exposure) project began in 2005. The nation since then had a few months of internet inactivity, before returning to the MNN forums on the 22nd May 2006.

The Government

The Government is comprised of 50 ministers, who meet once a fortnight in the Guildhouse, Independence Square, In Central Ee. They debate issues towards the running of the country. The Meetings last for three hours, and if after three fortnights of three hours debating, a vote goes out and the citizens decide. In special cases the Duke can make the debating time longer.

The Guildhouse contains fifty "Seats". Each minister is allocated a seat until such a time arises when he retires or dies. at this point a new minister is voted for by the Guildhouse.

Rediscovering the Delights of Paradisia

We hold great pride in our beautiful nation. Green, rolling hills; The ornamental Gardens in Ee; the state room in the palace, all these sights are breathtaking.

In a recent publication by the Ministry of Tourism "Welcome to Paradisia, Land of One Thousand Suprises" the following was said:
" The rail service is entirely steam - His Grace does not like electric trains- and you sit down, the vast expanse of the land around you. Sheep graze on their fields; children wave and smile at you; and then after a few minutes you come to the capital - Sandy Lane. This beautiful fishing port is built in a strange cluster. Its main export is ideas, and the houses are of marble. Its population is about 100, only a hamlet in most people's terms, but nonetheless, it is the largest town on this small, unregarded peice of the world."

A note to the Traveller to Sandy Lane: DO NOT be suprised to see old men running through the streets naked and wet, they have just had a wonderful idea in the bath, and are running to tell someone about it. If they are shouting "Eureka!" this, in the local language means "Give me a Towel!"

Alternately, you can post on our forums. Embassy Way is located Here. Usually, we only grant nations less than a month old recognition (meaning that we accept your existence), and when a nation reaces its first birthday, a treaty of defence and aid will be signed. Nations not exercising etiquitte and politeness towards the Duchy can not expect to recieve a treaty. However, please do not be afraid to contact us, we welcome any nation, no matter how big or small.

His Grace's speech at the Guildhouse about the declaration of war on Alexwich - released by the Ministry of Propaganda.

"As many of you know, we have been at relative peace with a small nation named Alexwich recently. Even more of you will remember the pointless .002 years war with them, which resulted in a treaty being signed.
This morning I recieved a letter which shocked me quite a bit. The letter denounced everything we hold dear; our democracy, our pride, our freedom, even our President. But even more shocking than that was the last sentence - reading: "I am herbey breaking our treaty and declaring war on Paradisia."
Yes, I know the spelling is appalling, but what he is saying that counts. As of now, Paradisia is formally at war with Alexwich. I am declaring codes Yellow, Purple with Orange Spots, Blue, Green and Black. If they think that they can take away our freedom, then they've got another thing coming. We shall burn their cities, we shall enslave their people, and when that is done they shall become yet another state of the Duchy, with a little puppet king in charge. We've done it bofre with the Republic of Virtual Cheese - and we'll do it again!"
